Whether you’re parking, driving in town or on long motorway journeys: the systems in our commercial vehicles are designed to offer you the highest levels of safety and comfort. Experience how our driving assistance systems make driving easier and provide additional safety. The availability of the assistance systems shown depends on the model and can be checked individually in the configurator.
Mercedes-Benz occupant protection systems.
The front airbags can protect the head and upper body of the driver and front passengers in the event of a collision. They offer a high level of protection, reducing the risk and severity of head, facial and chest injuries.

The Mercedes-Benz PRE-SAFE® [a][b] preventive occupant protection system can detect critical driving situations and initiate protective measures. These include the tightening of the driver’s and front passenger’s seat belts.[c]
[a]Our driving assistance and safety systems are merely aids, and do not relieve you of your responsibility as the driver. Please take note of the information in the Owner's Manual and the system limits which are described therein.

Greater safety when driving vans from Mercedes-Benz.
Driver assistance systems such as the standard Active Brake Assist[4] can help you avoid collisions with vehicles ahead and with pedestrians or cyclists crossing the road, or mitigate the consequences of such collisions.
Blind Spot Assist[4] with Rear Cross Traffic Alert can help prevent collisions when changing lanes or reversing by providing visual and audible warnings. If Blind Spot Assist detects a vehicle in the blind spot, it alerts the driver with a red triangle in the relevant wing mirror.[1]
Traffic sign recognition: The Traffic Sign Assist[1][3] displays speed limits, as well as traffic signs indicating no entry and no overtaking restrictions and their lifting, on the instrument cluster and media display. It also warns the driver when pedestrians are detected at pedestrian crossings. Traffic sign recognition is particularly helpful on routes with changing speed limits, such as near roadworks.
Can detect things you cannot see: This assistance system[4][1], available exclusively for the Sprinter, can alert you to road users in the blind spot on the passenger side using visual symbols and audible warnings. Bicycles and pedestrians can also be detected, thereby helping to prevent collisions.
Useful in busy traffic situations – this assistance system[4][1], available exclusively for the Sprinter, can help you avoid potential collision risks when pulling away. To do this, the system monitors the area directly in front of your vehicle and alerts you visually and audibly if it detects road users in the immediate vicinity.
Experience the intelligent support provided by modern assistance systems[4] working together. A combination of multiple systems assists you in adjusting your speed, steering, and staying in your lane, all tailored to the situation. Passengers and other road users are protected – and you can reach your destination in a more relaxed and comfortable manner. The Driving Assistance Package includes Active Speed Limit Assist, Enhanced Automatic Restarting on Motorways, route-based speed adaptation, and Active Steering Assist with Active Emergency Stop Assist and emergency corridor function.[1]
The yellow LED marker lights on the sides of the vehicle increase visibility both while driving and when stationary when the headlights are on, thereby contributing to improved road safety. They are required in the EU for vehicles with a total length of 6 meters or more.[1]
The audible warning system alerts pedestrians and cyclists, for example, to the presence of the electric vehicle and can thus help prevent collisions. In the speed range from 0 to approximately 30 km/h, an audible sound is generated, which helps make the electric vehicle more noticeable, for example, in traffic-calmed areas.[3]
Hill Start Assist[4] can make it easier to start off on a slope by temporarily preventing the vehicle from rolling backwards.
The Adaptive Brake Light[4] can warn following road users during heavy braking and help prevent rear-end collisions. It is activated when the ESP® detects an emergency braking situation during a braking maneuver – depending on brake pressure and speed.
The ATTENTION ASSIST[4] can help prevent microsleep, thereby improving your driving safety – especially on long trips and when driving at night. The system is supported by the standard driver camera and issues visual and audible warnings when it detects typical signs of fatigue or inattention, prompting you to take a break.
The radar-based Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC[4] maintains a predefined safe distance from vehicles ahead, brakes to a stop, and accelerates again when traffic resumes. This can relieve you of the burden, for example, during highway driving or in stop-and-go traffic.[1]
Active Lane Keeping Assist[4] monitors the area in front of your vehicle and can help prevent you from unintentionally drifting out of your lane. The system can guide you back into your lane with a corrective steering intervention and additionally warn you with a noticeable feedback through the steering wheel.
Crosswind Assist[4] can detect lane drift caused by strong crosswind gusts in a timely manner and help the driver stay in the lane. The larger the vehicle, the more important this support becomes, as sudden lane drift can trigger inappropriate steering reactions from the driver.
Headlamp Assist[1] automatically turns the headlights on or off depending on lighting conditions. Especially when brightness changes abruptly, such as when driving through tunnels, the assistant can relieve the driver and increase driving safety.[4]
The Highbeam Assist[3][5] automatically turns the high beams on and off according to the traffic situation, thereby relieving the driver of the need to manually switch between high and low beams. The system is controlled by a camera behind the windshield that continuously monitors traffic conditions in front of the vehicle.
Keep an easier eye on current speed limits. The assistant[1] can read the maximum speed limit from road signs and display it on the instrument cluster. If you exceed the speed limit, it can warn you with visual and audible signals.[4]
The Active Safety Package[1]is a state-of-the-art suite of driver assistance and safety systems designed to support the driver, detect hazards, and, in an emergency, help prevent accidents or mitigate their consequences. The Assistance Systems Package includes, for example, Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Active Speed Limit Assist, Active Steering Assist, Active Traffic Jam Assist[5] route-based speed adaptation, Active Emergency Stop Assist, Evasive Steering Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, and Active Blind Spot Assist, as well as PRE-SAFE® PLUS.
Well-protected.
The Anti-theft alarm system protects the vehicle and its cargo; it is automatically activated by the remote control and sounds if a door is opened from the inside while it is active.[4]
Active theft protection: The Anti-Theft Protection Package deters theft with visual and audible alarms and includes a theft protection system, interior protection, and towing protection.[4]
GUARD 360° offers comprehensive, active theft protection with an alarm system, emergency key deactivation, theft alerts via app, and a service that actively assists in recovering the stolen vehicle.[4][6]
The emergency call system speeds up the arrival of assistance by automatically initiating calls via the vehicle’s onboard SIM card following an accident, transmitting data, and reducing response times.
The tire pressure loss warning[4] monitors the air pressure on all four wheels at speeds of 20 km/h or higher. It can alert the driver to pressure loss in the tires, thereby increasing driving safety and tire durability.
The Premium Tire Protection warranty protects you from unexpected costs and covers factory-installed tires against damage caused by punctures, impacts, blowouts, vandalism, or theft, with the warranty covering both tir
