The AIRMATIC package is fitted as standard in ML 500 4MATIC, and is available as an optional extra for the other models. It includes front/rear air suspension with level control. This significantly increases driving comfort by keeping the vehicle level constant, even with heavier loads, to ensure that the full extent of spring travel is always available. Other key advantages include extending ground clearance if required, and reducing drag – and therefore fuel consumption – by lowering the level of the vehicle at higher speeds.

At the same time, the Adaptive Damping System (ADS) ensures even more driving pleasure, reducing pitch and roll and automatically damping each wheel individually as needed. You can choose between “Auto”, “Sport” and “Comfort” modes.
