The CLK Cabriolet provides support in critical situations. Its active safety systems include the Electronic Stability Program (ESP®), the anti-lock braking system (ABS) and Brake Assist (BAS). Together they can help you to keep the vehicle under control.

If your car is in danger of skidding, ESP® selectively brakes individual wheels and adjusts the engine output if required. ABS ensures that the vehicle remains steerable during emergency braking. BAS recognises emergency braking by the speed with which you press the brake pedal and instantly builds up the maximum braking force, bringing the car to a standstill faster.

What could be nicer than taking a drive in an open-top car on a warm summer’s night? With the CLK Cabriolet, this wonderful experience is now safer than ever. Optional bi-xenon headlamps with integrated active light and cornering light functions light up the darkest corners of every road.

The Active Light System ensures that the bi-xenon headlamps follow your steering movements. This improves illumination on bends by up to 90%, allowing you to see the course of the bend and any obstacles at an earlier stage.

Whenever you indicate to turn or take a sharp bend at speeds under 40 km/h, the cornering light function integrated into the front fog lamps is automatically activated on the side of the vehicle on the inside of the turn or bend.
